Everything is in chaos as the oligarchs like it.
A little bit of their plan…
They will unite “Church” and State. The Christian Zionists will remain loyal to Israel as “God’s chosen nation”. Christian fascism will continue to rise. Magical thinking will “save” all the poor folks and there will be no need for the government to fund anything. The billionaires will continue to fill their pockets with poor people’s money while only lifting a pen.
I’m in Canada where folks like Drake don’t know what it’s like to live in tyranny. We have health care for gods sakes. Magical prayers aren’t really needed unless you want the wait times to be less than 24 hrs. I mean we can’t have everything! But even though I have healthcare, I’m still in a frantic, adhd deep dive.

This spin cycle they have us on is dizzying and makes me want something settled, safe, comfortable and “normal”. I want the predictable nothingness of liberalism. But as Hedges explains, the Democrats set the American governing system up to work this way. How different is a corporate government to an oligarch government?
My peri-menopause-induced insomnia is just getting worse as the spin cycle escalates. I can’t imagine living further south. God, this is bad.
My American friends are full on involved. Protests around immigrant rights. Resilience pods and daily phone calls to representatives. Country wide 24hr economic black-out (Feb 27-28th). The movements are starting.
At the end of Chris Hedges interview (please watch it) he says under this type of regime there are two options: tyranny or revolution. He doesn’t believe we are ready to overthrow the economic, social and political status quo but that is what will be needed. Mass mobilization larger than anything seen in the past. He says, “We need a militant labour movement that destroys the ruling class”.
Are we ready for that? How bad does it need to get folks? The upper-middle class won’t be mobilized because life is just too comfortable for them. The media won’t let you know how many of your rights are being stripped away. Social media will continue to censor and manipulate the algorithms so you never see the resistance. But the revolution WILL be televised. Thank you Lamar.

Resistance is Inevitable
In 1917 the black railway porters working out of Winnipeg started the first black workers union in N. America. The building they met in to conspire and build camaraderie was right down the street from where I live. It almost burned down a few weeks ago. There is no sign, no plaque, no monument to acknowledge this momentous group of people. Black history in Winnipeg is almost completely erased. Resistance of any kind is downplayed and silenced. These historical movements need to be brought back into the light. We need to know our stories!

Be part of the change! Artists, form cooperatives and pods. Join the fight. Get involved in your local politics. Read or watch political history. Learn about unions. Vote and make phone calls. Teach young people. Use any tool in your belt to stand up for justice.
